Amber

Other gems

Yellow amber (orange-yellow) is a fossilized resin of conifers from the Oligocene (-32 millions years) in the Baltic area. The stone is hard and transparent, with the inclusion of fossilised insects that are often amusing and surprising. Amber, " êlektron" in Greek, is characterised by its ability to become electrified by rubbing. Electricity owes its name to this stone.
